Adding pure water avoids the generation of harmful by-products to the human body, improves the purity of hydrogen production, and avoids scaling in the electrolytic cell, ensuring the service life of the machine.

At this point, we need to mention the hydrogen production principle of hydrogen absorbers.

At present, most of the high-quality hydrogen absorption machines on the market use proton membrane electrolysis technology. This technology uses high-density proton exchange membranes (proton membranes) as solid electrolytes, combined with membrane electrodes, to efficiently electrolyze pure water to generate pure hydrogen and pure oxygen. The hydrogen is discharged through the exhaust port, retaining high-purity hydrogen for human consumption.

The traditional electrolysis method for hydrogen production not only produces hydrogen gas through the main reaction, but also produces harmful by-products such as chlorine gas, hypochlorous acid, ozone, etc. at the anode end. Moreover, some manufacturers may add sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide diluents to water to help with conductivity in order to increase hydrogen production. However, these chemicals are prone to volatilization, resulting in a significant decrease in hydrogen purity.

However, pure water electrolysis for hydrogen production utilizes polymer proton exchange membranes for solid-state electrolysis, resulting in complete separation of hydrogen and oxygen. With the addition of pure water, pure hydrogen gas with a purity of over 99.9% can be produced. Moreover, complete separation of hydrogen and oxygen also avoids the risk of combustion and explosion during high-speed operation of hydrogen engine equipment, improving the safety of the equipment.

Why recommend using water such as Yibao drinking purified water, Wahaha drinking purified water, Watsons distilled water, etc.? It is because the TDS value of these water is detected as 0.

TDS stands for Total Dissolved Solids, also known as Total Dissolved Solids. It is measured in milligrams per liter (mg/L) and indicates how many milligrams of dissolved solids are present in 1 liter of water.

Simply put, the higher the TDS value, the more substances are dissolved in water, which usually refer to the concentration of Ca2+, Mg2+, Na+, K+ions in water and have conductivity.

Although the water discharged from the water purifier at home is generally below 50, the TDS value is not 0, and the water added to the air source water tank needs to use water quality that meets the requirements. So try not to add water from your own water purifier and use it according to water quality requirements to maximize the service life of our machines.
